PRIVATEER

The SSCS Privateer Ranking is a unique training incentive allowing individuals the opportunity to select any one-weapon system to study in full, rather than having to go though the entire curriculum to reach the particular weapon that you like. These curriculums have been created to encompass everything there is to know about a specific weapon including its historical reference and correct period use within a Stage Combat environment. They do not however contain the Acting Syllabus or requirements of a SAFDi certification course. So if you want to fight safely, but you don’t want to learn lines or perform in front of an audience, then this is the course for you.

Privateer Rankings consist of three stages, each stage is designed to build and extend upon the skills base of the last. There is no time limit to complete any stage, you learn at your own pace. When the participant feels they are ready they may elect to sit the ‘Skills Proficiency Test’ (SPT) for that stage.

Along the way you will develop a higher understanding of balance, movement and co-ordination as you learn footwork, defence and attack techniques. Improved fitness and confidence are an added bonus as you train in a safe, friendly, supportive environment.

So, choose your time period, select your weapon and prepare yourself for fun. Engarde!

Desired Outcome: It is the SSCS’s intention to train Privateers to be able to recognise a technique by name and perform it with speed, accuracy and confidence. Privateers will be trained to an Advanced Stage Combatant level and will be required to perform as such.
